Vocal

Lift every voice and sing!

At Raynor Country Day School, each student is encouraged to find his/her voice. Educators work with students to develop a level of success for each individual vocalist. Students work weekly with the vocal teacher to develop rhythm, learn musical notation, reflect upon music history, and further an appreciation of various musical genres. RCDS boasts three fine performing choruses-- Pre-K - K, Grades 1,2&3 and Grades 4-6. Gathering as a chorus allows students to work cooperatively and unite their voices with one common goal. The student chorus groups perform for the community, at concerts, celebrations, and assemblies. Often, individual students are selected to perform vocal solos or to perform as part of the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Festival. Select students may also be chosen to represent Raynor Country Day School at the county level as part of the Suffolk County Music Educators (SCEMA) Festival.
